Advantech has released details of the IPC-6908 eight-slot, fault-resistant industrial computer which automatically detects power failure, fan failure and overheating within the chassis. When a malfunction has been detected, an audible alarm and visual LED indicator quickly identifies the problem. The compact IPC-6908 is supplied with two half-height and one 3,5" disk drive, and space is reserved for one internal 3,5" HDD.
The IPC-6908 has a compact 250 W 1+1 hot-swap redundant power supply which allows on-line maintenance for power failure without disturbing system operation. If required, all standard PS/2 and ATX power supplies can be installed. A slide-out power supply drawer provides easy access to the power supply for speedy maintenance. Only four screws need to be removed to slide the power supply out without disassembling the whole chassis. The drawer is universal for standard PS/2 type power supplies.
Two 49 CFM hot swappable cooling fans are included, and an alarm will activate if either fan fails, and users can easily unplug the fan module and replace it.
