Synthesizer has superior phase noise figures

Communication Techniques has introduced a new EDRS Series synthesizer. The EDRS Series synthesizers provide superior phase noise performance and very high immunity to phase hits as well as fine frequency steps up to 15 GHz or higher for the expanding point-to-point/multipoint marketplace as well as for the established satcom, telecom, radar and instrumentation markets, according to the manufacturer.

The EDRS can provide virtually any needed step size down to <1 Hz and can cover up to 1200 MHz bandwidth. Phase noise can be optimised in order to best match system requirements and can be specified either as a mask or as weighted integrated noise. It has a small footprint and a choice of options such as serial or parallel programming, internal or 5-100 MHz external reference, internal IFLO and single DC supply capability.

CTI can custom-configure the EDRS for special system requirements such as wider bandwidths, extended frequency ranges, dual synthesizer packages and alternative interfaces.
