Vectron International has introduced a packaged solution for high frequency clock signal generation. The FX070 frequency translator is a narrow band, low noise PLL that generates a 2488,32 MHz output locked to an input 12,96 MHz reference clock. The unit provides a 0 dBm sinewave output with <5 ps jitter for Sonet/SDH/ATM, clock distribution or other applications requiring a high frequency clock.
The FX070 operates from a single 5,0 V supply with a typical current requirement of 150 mA. Also in this product line is the FX060, for generation of 155,52 and 19,44 MHz clock outputs locked to an input 8 kHz or 1,544 MHz reference clock. The FX060 uses a VCXO for the 19,44 MHz PLL, then has a frequency multiplier to obtain the 155,52 MHz output. The output waveform is AC/HCMOS with 2 ns rise/fall times at 155,52 MHz.
