Mini computer for hospitals and doctor's rooms

28 August 2002 Computer/Embedded Technology

Digital-Logic's Microspace-PC is an accredited personal computer for applications in medical facilities, hospitals, doctor's practices, and pharmacies. According to the company the Microspace-PCs are compact and work very quietly; and they meet the EN60601-1 and EN60601-1-2 technical standards which define the directives for safety and radiation in medical environments.

These 'book-size' PCs have dimensions 159 x 148 x 66 mm and weigh 2 kg. The cooling system uses no fan so the noise level is extremely low (<35 dB). Also since there is no airflow another important advantage is that dust and dirt is not sucked in, making them highly suitable for sterile environments. They can be positioned either horizontally or vertically like a book.

The Microspace-PC runs with usual PC software and is based on 700 MHz Pentium III or Celeron processor, a 128 or 256 MB memory respectively and come with all important PC interfaces.
