NEC Electronics' (Europe) 2nd Generation USB 2.0 (data transfer rates to 480 Mbps) to IDE bridge device enables an enhanced single chip interface for ATA/ATAPI products such as HDDs, CDs and DVDs. The µPD720130 is USB-IF certified and maintains compatibility with USB 1.1. The device integrates the USB 2.0 transceiver, serial interface engine (SIE), and end point controller (EPC) together with an IDE controller and a 16 bit CISC microprocessor and on chip ROM/RAM to control the operation of the device. Supporting both LBA48 and Ultra DMA66 specifications it comes in 100-pin LQFP (14 x 14 mm) package.
