Advantech has introduced the ADAM-6000 series for industrial automation in the smart I/O block concept. ADAM-6000 is an Ethernet-enabled data acquisition and control module that features mixed I/O, data acquisition, Web browser and networking capabilities together in one module. It is designed with intelligent mathematical functions in each module and can retrieve I/O values from sensors and broadcast these realtime values to nodes over the LAN or WAN.
Various communication modules such as Ethernet hub, Ethernet switch and Ethernet switch with fibre port are provided. Embedded with a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet chip, ADAM-6000 supports industrial Modbus/TCP over TCP/IP networks which are commonly used in most business environments. It also supports UDP, which allows users to develop their applications and handle events.
ADAM-6000 provides built-in mathematical functions, including MAX, MIN, AVG etc, in analog input/output modules. The mixed I/O modular design maximises the performance and use of I/O and eliminates maintenance costs. The modules adopt Web technology to enable remote monitoring via Internet. In addition to standard Web pages, these modules allow users to use Java language to develop pages to meet their own requirements. Standard HMI software with Modbus/TCP OPC drivers and ActiveX drivers is also supported.
The series comprises Ethernet network modules, digital I/O modules, analog I/O modules and a Web-based camera.
