Exar has added a seven-channel Analog Front End (AFE) with clock and data recovery to its T/E product line. The XRT81L17 is targeted at multichannel devices including digital cross connects, channel banks, multiplexers, high-speed data transmission line cards, as well as public switching systems and PBX interfaces.
The XRT81L17 includes seven independent T1 analog front ends, (receiver/transmitter pairs with clock and data recovery) which enables the physical layer of a 28-line system to be implemented with only four devices. The chip contains transmit duty cycle correction circuitry so that the AFE can generate output transmit pulses independent of the transmit clock's duty cycle. The device is compliant with leading industry DS1 standards. It also detects and clears LOS per ITU-T G.775. In addition, it can be controlled/configured in both hardware and host modes. This product is pin compatible with Exar's XRT81L27, a seven-channel E1 (CEPT) AFE. This pair of seven-channel LIUs offers cost-effective solutions for both T1 and E1 environments.
