Exar is offering a new low power, high-speed clock multiplier for frequency synchronisation. Providing the same low jitter and high performance as the existing XRT8020 (650 MHz), Exar claims the XRT8010 gives OEMs a cost-effective solution for specialised lower frequency applications (up to 350 MHz). The device offers a low voltage differential signalling (LVDS) interface, and improved accumulated jitter (6 ps rms at 311 MHz) - all at very low power dissipation levels (less than 80 mW typical at 3,3 V).
The XRT8010 is suited for manufacturers of communications equipment, and hybrid crystal oscillator manufacturers, for telecommunications applications at Gigabit Ethernet and SONET/SDH speeds.
