Bluetooth LE SiP for industrial and indoor positioning

27 October 2021 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

ANNA-B412 from u-blox is a standalone Bluetooth 5.1 LE module for harsh industrial and lighting applications, providing a throughput of 800 Kbps and supporting up to eight simultaneous connections. The module has an internal chip antenna for easy integration into end-products as well as an antenna pin for use with an external antenna of choice. It supports a Bluetooth 5 long-range feature to offer an extended communication range with reliable connections.

The module is suitable for operation at high ambient temperatures with an operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C. It is globally certified for use with an internal or external antenna.

ANNA-B412 uses the u-connectXpress software that provides support for u-blox’s Bluetooth Low Energy Serial Port Service, GATT client and server, beacons, Bluetooth long range, NFC and simultaneous peripheral and central roles. This software allows hosts to easily configure connectivity using AT commands over a UART interface. The module provides top-grade security through its secure boot function which ensures that the modules only boot up with authenticated u-connectXpress software.

The device is available in an ultra-compact system-in-package (SiP) module that measures 6,5 x 6,5 mm with an integrated antenna. It is suitable for use in industrial automation, smart cities and buildings, medical and healthcare and telematics. The module can also be used in specific applications which include smart lighting, asset tracking, indoor location, sensors and wireless-connected and configurable equipment.
