9-in-1 cellular and GNSS antenna

30 March 2022 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

The MA9909.A.002 from Taoglas is a 9-in-1 cellular and GNSS antenna that operates from 617 to 3600 MHz, covering multiple worldwide 4G LTE, 5G and GNSS bands. It has 8 linearly polarised 4G/5G cellular MIMO elements and an RHCP-polarised GNSS element that supports GPS, GLONASS and Galileo constellations.

The cellular elements provide an average gain of -10,15 dB with maximum efficiency of 62,69%, and the GNSS element provides a peak gain of 1,5 dBiC. The GNSS antenna has an integrated LNA and SAW filter, with a noise figure of 3,3 dB and a VSWR of less than 2:1. It has an omnidirectional radiation pattern and can handle an input power of up to 2 W.

The MA9909.A.002 requires a DC supply of 1,8 V, 3,0 V or 5,5 V, and consumes less than 23 mA of current. It is available in an IP67-rated, waterproof adhesive-mount enclosure that measures 360 x 160 x 16,5 mm. SMA plug connectors and a 1 metre low-loss TGC-200 and RG-174 cables complete the solution.

This antenna is ideal for use in passenger bus, rail, air applications, automotive and heavy equipment vehicle tracking and telematics, remote asset and pipeline monitoring, HD video over LTE, first responder and emergency services, IoT and M2M applications.
