Vacuum tweezers for handling tiny parts

EMP 2021 Electronics Manufacturing & Production Handbook Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services

Able to handle parts as small as 100 microns, the ADJUST-A-VAC vacuum tweezers from Virtual Industries answer customer concerns about manual handling of very thin/delicate substrates, optics, wafers, MEMS devices and other very fragile components. They allow the operator to adjust the vacuum level from just below atmospheric pressure to up to 25,4 cm of mercury, depending on the fragility of the part being handled.

An integrated ten-segment bar-graph display visibly shows the vacuum level present during handling operations. Just touch the vacuum tip to the part to pick it up and a slight tap on the push-button releases the part. The vacuum port integrates a user replaceable inlet filter that protects operation of the tool from dust particles.

These vacuum tweezers are available with different vacuum tip combinations depending on your handling application. Kits are available in 120 V or 230 V operation. A foot-switch model is available to further improve operator ergonomics.
