Espressif Systems is launching the ESP32-WROOM-DA, a module that achieves high-quality wireless connectivity across large areas, using two complementary PCB antennas in different directions. Also, based on its industry-leading technical specifications, the coexistence of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (Classic and Low Energy) connectivity, and its low-power consumption modes, users will be able to bring to life a wide range of complex IoT application scenarios.
The module has a built-in ESP32-D0WD-V3 chip, which has an Xtensa 32-bit LX6 dual-core processor with a maximum frequency of 240 MHz, along with 520 KB of SRAM and 448 KB of ROM. While being used, the module works according to signal strength, selecting the strongest signal to ensure continuous communication. When a weak signal is detected, the module continues to work with an API call that helps it switch to another antenna with a stronger signal.
The ESP32-WROOM-DA is pin-to-pin compatible with the ESP32-WROOM-32E, thus facilitating quick and easy migration between these two modules. The unique antenna design of the ESP32-WROOM-DA has resulted in the module's excellent wireless communication, even under difficult circumstances. Thus, makers using ESP32-WROOM-DA can now develop IoT applications that need stable connectivity over a broad spectrum, or deploy Wi-Fi in challenging and hazardous environments, or overcome communication problems in Wi-Fi deadspots.
