Multi-mode LTE module with positioning support

28 February 2022 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

Fibocom’s new-generation LTE module, the SC126, is powered by the Qualcomm QCM2290 chipset delivering robust performance with high-speed connectivity, enhanced GPS and advanced camera features.

The module adopts a 64-bit Arm Cortex-A53 quad-core processor running at up to 2,0 GHz, enough to provide reliable performance with seamless connectivity. It runs an Android 12 operating system (OS), allowing for subsequent OS upgrades. With a powerful built-in CPU and GPU, the module is well suited for point-of-sale systems, smart robots, industrial handheld equipment, DVRs, etc. It also supports dual image signal processor (ISP) and multi-channel camera input, which can be used in applications such as facial recognition, ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) and DMS (driver monitoring systems).

Various long-distance communication modes are supported, as well as dual-band Wi-Fi/Bluetooth short-distance wireless transmission technologies. Supplied in an LCC+LGA form factor, the device enables flexibility and ease of integration to meet various application demands. In addition, it supports multi-constellation GNSS reception (GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou) to provide accurate positioning and navigation.

Apart from a wealth of interfaces (MIPI, CSI, USB, UART, SPI, I2C), the SC126 supports up to FHD resolution for high-quality images. Thanks to extended lifecycle support through 2028, it ensures flexibility to upgrade terminal devices for customers.
