As industrial automation, remote monitoring, and IoT deployments continue to expand, reliable connectivity has become a critical requirement. The InHand Networks InRouter315 (IR315) is a compact industrial LTE router designed to provide secure, always-on communications for demanding industrial environments.
The IR315 combines 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and VPN technologies into a rugged, industrial-grade platform that enables seamless connectivity across a wide range of applications. From smart factories and EV charging stations to inspection robots, medical equipment, and intelligent transport systems, the router delivers dependable network access where reliability is essential.
A key advantage of the IR315 is its comprehensive network redundancy capability. The router supports cellular, wired, and Wi-Fi connections, with automatic failover between communication links. Features such as dual SIM support, VRRP hot backup, cellular link failover, and multi-layer link detection help maintain uninterrupted communications even when network conditions are unstable.
Security is equally important in industrial environments, and the IR315 incorporates multiple layers of protection. Built-in firewall functionality, access control lists, stateful packet inspection, VPN support, and advanced encryption technologies safeguard critical data and network infrastructure. The router supports a broad range of VPN protocols, including IPSec, OpenVPN, WireGuard, GRE, L2TP, PPTP, DMVPN, and ZeroTier.
The compact router features five 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports, optional Wi-Fi connectivity up to 300 Mbps, optional serial interfaces, configurable I/O, and optional multi-constellation GNSS positioning. Its fanless metal enclosure, DIN rail or wall-mount installation options, and operating temperature range of -20°C to 70°C make it well suited for harsh industrial environments.
Cloud integration through InHand's Device Manager platform further enhances deployment and maintenance by enabling real-time monitoring and remote management of large fleets of distributed devices. The result is a versatile, secure, and highly reliable industrial networking solution designed to support modern digital transformation initiatives.
