Taoglas has released the new MagmaX AA.171 for global navigation satellite system (GNSS) applications in advanced telematics and M2M, for example in commercial vehicle installations for fleet management.
The dual-feed, two-stage, external antenna offers stable operation over GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou frequencies. It provides low axial ratio value (from 1 to 3) and wide axial ratio bandwidth across the full frequency range (1561–1602 MHz).
The low axial ratio results in vastly reduced multipath interference effects, improving accuracy of the GNSS signals, especially in urban areas where it leads to quicker lock times and a higher level of accuracy. A frontend SAW filter reduces risk of radiated spurious emissions and compression due to other nearby transmitters, a common cause of certification failure on GNSS systems.
Manufactured in a TS16949 Tier One automotive approved facility, the MagmaX is housed in a compact, waterproof enclosure and is ideal for robust, covert installations where durability and small size are paramount. It is available with a wide range of connector options, weighs 92 g and measures 53 x 50 x 17 mm.
