The ESP-WROOM-02 is an SMD Wi-Fi module measuring 18 x 20 mm.
By allowing developers to define the server, modify and redevelop the software solution based on the Espressif SDK, Espressif Systems aims to shorten the development cycle for applications such as smart home appliances, home automation, industrial wireless control, sensors, detectors and monitors.
Carrying CE, FCC and TELEC certifications, the device supports 802.11 b/g/n standards in the 2,4 GHz band. When running from a voltage of 3,0 to 3,6 V, it consumes an average of 80 mA, and can function in temperatures between -40°C and +125°C. It supports operation in station, softAP and softAP+station modes, and employs WPA/ WPA2 security and WEP/TKIP/AES encryption.
Peripheral interfaces include UART, HSPI, I²C, I²S, IR remote control, GPIO and PWM, while supported network protocols are IPv4, TCP, UDP, HTTP and FTP. User configuration can be performed via AT instruction set, cloud server or Android/iOS app.
