NB-IoT module

9 November 2016 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

Quectel’s NBIoT BC95 module, slated to be China’s first cellular module compliant to the 3GPP Release 13, is being released in the fourth quarter of 2016, and will provide the basic platform for terminal suppliers’ NB-IoT (NarrowBand Internet of Things) deployments. The module supports the 900 MHz GSM band and will add support for 1800 MHz, 700 MHz, 850 MHz and 800 MHz in the future. Reserved for eSIM, the device aims to make it easier for integrators and designers to cooperate with operators to develop their products. It is also compatible with Quectel’s GSM/GPRS module M95, making it convenient for customers looking to migrate their designs from GPRS to NB-IoT.
