It is ideal for both industrial and consumer applications requiring high data rate and multimedia functions.
The module supports multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology with 2 x 20 MHz carrier aggregation, for maximum download speed up to 300 Mbps. The use of multiple antennas at the receiver end at the same time and on the same frequency band greatly minimises errors and optimises the data speed. The module also combines high-speed wireless connectivity with an embedded multi-constellation and high-sensitivity GNSS (GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou) receiver for positioning.
A rich set of interfaces (such as LCM, camera, touch panel, MIC, SPK, UART, USB, I²C, SPI) extend the applicability of the module to a wide range of M2M applications, including smart cash registers, tax controllers, security monitoring, onboard equipment, high-level information collection equipment, intelligent robots, smart home, intelligent hardware, intelligent industrial handhelds, intelligent industrial PADs, drones, high-level police enforcement instruments, intelligent intercom devices, smart wearables, vending machines, logistics cabinets, and more.
The module can accommodate dual LCDs and dual touch panels for independent display and operation, running at 1920x1200 pixels at 60 frames per second for both the primary and secondary displays, and supports recording and playback of 1080p videos at 60 fps. It also supports up to four cameras, with two of them working simultaneously.
Idrive, an American company based in California with engineering offices in Europe, selected the SC60-E model on which to develop its idrive X2, a dual video event recorder which records two HD videos simultaneously. The camera is mounted on the windshield inside of a vehicle and records both the road and driver. Idrive’s Visual Telematics Service offers live GPS tracking with live videos that can be requested by safety managers with the click of a button.
