New software release for GPS receivers

16 July 2003 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

u-blox has introduced a new version of its Antaris GPS Software which lets Antaris GPS receivers operate with lower overall power consumption and additionally offers new power-saving functions.

The new software release 2.11 for the TIM-LP and TIM-LF macro components contains advanced algorithms which lead to a reduction in power consumption of 10 mW without compromising performance. In addition, it contains the innovative FixNow low power mode which enables intermittent operation with configurable active and sleep times. This function is ideally suited for applications with very limited power budget, for example battery-operated handhelds and autonomous tracking units.

The software provides high flexibility and a wide range of configurable parameters. These parameters can be stored in resident memory to make them effective after power-up. As an additional option, u-blox provides the Antaris SCKit (Software Customisation Kit) for integrating user code into the Antaris GPS receiver. The software is available immediately in all u-blox' Antaris GPS receiver products: macro-components, GPS receiver boards and u-blox support products.
