Hillcor Holdings manufactures locally a handheld microphone highly suitable for most two-way radios currently in use in southern Africa. This microphone can be configured with a range of microphone connectors, including the RJ series. If amplification is required, the company has available its locally designed amplifier that can be installed.
A 'soft feel' spiral cable, 4 core plus screen, is used, which allows excellent extension and use. The plastic casing is ABS UV-treated. The dynamic insert has been specifically designed to suit local conditions, with an impedance of 600 Ω.
The EL1-10 extension speaker, also made locally, has found acceptance in the communication sector. The plastic housing measures 88 x 88 x 45 mm with an adjustable mounting bracket and is manufactured using ABS, UV-treated plastic.
The specially-designed Mylar speaker is rated at 4 Ω, 10 W nominal, 15 W max at an SPL of 95 dB/W, Fo = 0 to 5 kHz.
