Sagem has extended its family of GSM/GPRS mobiles, M2M and multimedia modules with a BGA type module, further facilitating the development of cost-effective and compact multimedia devices.
The XS200 features an extra small form factor of 33 x 38 x 3 mm, which is ideal for applications like security and mobile products where space is a key requirement. Because the XS200 is mounted using BGA balls, no connector is required. The 400+ BGA balls further adds mechanical strength in the mounting of the module for applications that are exposed to vibrations like automotive.
The XS200 is full tri-band capable (900, 1800, 1900 MHz), with a quad band version to be released soon. Future versions will also support Bluetooth, WiFi and IRDA.
The key features are: GPRS, class 10 PBCCH; Voice, data, SMS, MMS, STK and USSD capable; wide range of AT commands; EAP SIM support, localisation support; Multiplex Serial interface with flow control and parallel bus; NMEA support for external GPS; Microsoft Windows Mobile Compliant (embedded RIL driver).
