Nordic has announced that Logitech has selected its 2,4 GHz RF-devices for Logitech's next generation wireless gaming products. The nRF24XX family of 2,4 GHz products, with its high level of integration, low system cost, very low power and ease of use, makes it a perfect fit for the world leader in gaming devices, said the company.
"Our initial choice of going with Nordic VLSI was based on the excellence of their products and their commitment to ensuring Logitech a successful product development phase," said Paul Loughnane, hardware engineer manager at Logitech. "We have been very satisfied; Nordic VLSI's commitment to Logitech is strong and their support never stops impressing me. The devices have been very easy to work with, and we have been able to reach an optimal solution for our products."
Logitech will use the nRF2401 transceiver and the nRF24E1 transceiver with integrated microcontroller, ADC and peripherals as a platform solution for wireless gaming devices.
"Logitech is a truly global organisation, and supporting them on a global basis was an important challenge for Nordic VLSI," said Svein-Egil Nielsen, marketing director for Nordic. "We support multiple Logitech locations directly or with the assistance of our local partners. Winning this design shows that our logistics and support structure has reached the goals Nordic set two years ago, and we have now become a true global semiconductor vendor."
