The PCI-1716/L is a powerful high-resolution multifunction DAS card for the PCI bus. Available from ProMicro, it features a 250 kSa/s 16-bit A/D converter and an onboard 1000 sample FIFO buffer for A/D. A total of up to 16 single-ended or eight differential A/D input channels are available, or a mixed combination of two 16-bit D/A output channels, 16 digital I/O channels and one 10 MHz 16-bit counter channel.
During card installation, there is no need to set jumpers or DIP switches. Instead, all bus related configurations are automatically done by the plug-and-play function. PCI-bus mastering DMA is supported for high-speed data transfer and gap-free analog input/output. The built-in calibration circuitry corrects gain and offset errors in analog input/output channels eliminating the need for external equipment and user adjustments.
The PCI-1716/L features an automatic channel/gain/SD/BU scanning circuit that controls multiplexer switching during sampling. The onboard SRAM stores different gain, SD and BU values for each channel. A built-in DIP switch helps define each card's ID when multiple cards have been installed on the same PC chassis, and an onboard FIFO memory and programmable timer/counter are provided.
