Infineon has extended its communications product portfolio with its Amazon ADSL2/2+ CPE and WildCard 802.11a/b/g WLAN solutions, intended for manufacturers to develop cost effective set-top boxes, DSL modems and routers as well as other types of home gateways for delivering broadband. The new Amazon single-chip solution integrates an ADSL2/2+ engine, an analog front end, a line driver, a high-performance MIPS processor, 10/100 Ethernet MAC and PHY, PCI and other interfaces for system connectivity. It supports wire-speed data throughput from the WAN to the LAN. The new WildCard is a cost-effective 802.11a/b/g WLAN solution integrating a WLAN MAC and a Baseband Processor into a single chip. With an integrated PCI interface, WildCard provides 32-bit performance and PCI bus master capability. Fully compliant with IEEE 802.11a/b/g and the WiFi WPA security standard, the WildCard delivers wireless Ethernet networking at speeds of up to 54 Mbps.
