Single-chip Zigbee-ready CMOS SOC

UBEC (Uniband Electronic) has announced a new Zigbee-ready IC. The UZ2400 is a single-chip wireless CMOS SOC specifically designed for IEEE 802.15.4 standard at 2,4 GHz. It is the first Zigbee ready chip that integrates all 802.15.4 MAC timing critical controls such as CSMA/CA algorithm, beacon timer, and sleeper timer. This feature relieves the requirements on the processing power of external microprocessor and thus allows more versatility on the choice of microprocessor. It provides SPI interface and other features include supporting all seven AES security modes, integrated VCO, PLL loop filter, voltage regulator, and RF T/R switch. It is housed in a 48-pin, 7 x 7 mm² QFN package.
