Application: a point-to-multipoint I/O for pump control

The Vantech Mine in Steelpoort had a problem because it has two pumps on the same line that feed a holding dam. In order to regulate the water level in the dam it had to stop both pumps simultaneously or in as short a time possible. The dam often overflowed as a result of remote control of the pumps.
After many attempts with different control systems and all with no success, Vantech found Satel. Using the Satel radio modem together with the company's I-Link 100, solved this problem without any cabling being necessary. With the implementation of the 3AS data radio and the I-Link 100 at each pump and the holding dam, Vantech is now easily able to control the pumps and the level of the water in the holding dam.
The I-link 100's work in point-to-point or point-to-multipoint modes, giving users the freedom to control multiple pumps and multiple dam levels in one system. The I-Link PCPRO goes one step further. This program provides the functionality to monitor the system and gives the control to change any I/O port at will. With the added PCPRO software, the mine can now also control the pumps from a local PC.
