Power splitters and couplers

7 September 2005 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

Power splitters and couplers have become increasingly commonplace due to the increase of wireless service providers requirements to transmit and reduce power. Amphenol produces a range of Tubular Power and Microstrip splitters in 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 versions. Amphenol's range of couplers is available in eight configurations ranging from 3 dB to 30 dB coupling inputs.

Electrical characteristics include: frequency range 800-2500 MHz; impedance 50 Ω; maximum power 200 W; insertion loss 0,1 dB min; VSWR 1.2:1. Connection is via industry standard N-Type and 7/16 coaxial connectors.

All splitters and couplers are manufactured using aluminium with a powder-coated finish. Typical applications include indoor coverage projects such as multistorey buildings, tunnels and metros, and outdoor repeaters for mobile communications.
