Simple dial-in dial-out remote access server solution

Multenet, a global supplier of serial to Ethernet connectivity products, has released a low cost dial-in dial-out router product. Henry de Ruyter, the company's managing director, says that if the recently-completed field tests provide a measure of its capabilities, the $220 PocketPAD Router will be an industry beater.
Based on the company's entry-level PocketPAD 1 design, the PocketPAD Router comes with two RS232 serial interfaces and one 10/100 Ethernet interface. The unit provides a Web-based user interface, designed to easily configure dial-in or dial-out PPP RAS connections using almost any external serial modem. With the port-forwarding feature, this product is ideal for use when setting up remote Ethernet networks for connectivity of equipment that supports Ethernet communication. An additional variant to be released in November 2005 will support four serial ports, and multilinking with automatic bandwidth management.
With the recent acceptance of GPRS connectivity in both industrial automation monitoring applications, and retail in-store payment transaction processing, this product offers an ideal bridge between GPRS serial modems, and small device networks.
