New modules simplify design of wireless sensor networks

28 November 2007 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

ANT has launched its AT3 family of modules featuring its proven RF ultra-low power protocol, SensRcore wireless sensor development platform, and consistent hardware footprint. Offering simplified design and integration as well as low cost in a variety of practical application-driven configurations, this group of modules handles all simple to complex WSN (wireless sensor network) sensor node and hub scenarios.

The AT3 drop-in FCC ready modules are a complete silicon solution intentionally engineered for ease of use, scalability and lowest power consumption, enabling sensors to operate for up to three years on a coin cell battery. AT3 modules are integrated with an antenna, reducing the need for RF design expertise, and a common AT3 pin-out and 20 x 20 mm footprint enable easy network development, upgrading, migration and maintenance.

The SensRcore development platform eliminates the need for an external host microcontroller and firmware programming for most wireless sensors. Instead, only simple point-and-click configurations or scripts are required.
