Maxim has developed a highly integrated, single-conversion tuner for DVB-H, mobile TV applications, in the form of the MAX2165. This integrates all of the tuning functions along with an RF-tracking filter, low-noise amplifier, transmit-reject notch filter and programmable baseband, low-pass channel-selection filters into a small, 5 mm x 5 mm, 28-pin TQFN. This high level of integration in a small package makes the MAX2165 ideal for cellphones and other handheld devices.
The MAX2165 consumes only 21 mW of power at 8% duty cycle, covers a 470 MHz to 780 MHz UHF signal range, and operates from a single 2,85 V supply. It is fully compliant with MBRAI and Nordig requirements, and is specified to operate over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
