Serialiser ideal for ultra-compact systems

Maxim's MAX9235 serialiser, coupled with the MAX9206 deserialiser, presents a proven solution for camera interfaces (up to 400 Mbps) in small form-factor applications.

Offered in a 3 mm x 3 mm x 0,8 mm, 16-pin TQFN package that has a 0,5 mm contact pitch, it is said to be the industry's smallest 10:1 serialiser - 88% smaller than the previous 28-pin SSOP solutions. The small size and wide -40°C to +105°C operating temperature range make it suitable for the ultra-compact cameras used in production line monitoring, security and automotive applications. The MAX9235 serialises 10 bits of LVTTL/LVCMOS data into a single LVDS serial data stream. The MAX9206 then deserialises that single LVDS serial input into 10 single-ended LVTTL/LVCMOS outputs. The clock is recovered from the data stream, eliminating the clock-to-data and data-to-data skew that exists in a parallel bus. The MAX9235 can lock to a parallel clock in a wide 16 MHz to 40 MHz range.
