RF Micro Devices announced the release of its new 5 GHz SZP-5026Z high linearity amplifier designed specifically for use in WLAN and WiMAX consumer premises equipment (CPE), access point and base transceiver station (BTS) applications.
The SZP-5026Z is a 2 W single stage Class AB Indium Gallium Phosphide (InGaP) Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) amplifier optimised for use as either a final or driver stage in WiMAX equipment. It delivers error vector magnitude (EVM) performance of 2,5% at 25,5 dBm output power.
Other technical features include operation over the supply range from 3 to 5 V, and an operating frequency range of 4,9 to 5,9 GHz. Input and output are internally pre-matched, and an input power detector and on/off power control are integrated. The device's thermally enhanced SOF-26 package achieves 1000 V Class 1C ESD protection.
