The Sencom SC systems from Sental are COFDM video transmission systems for 400–900 MHz or 2,3–2,5 GHz, designed for wireless point-to-point transmission links, high-quality video and dual audio, and high-speed video, voice and data transmission in multipath environments.
Based on COFDM (coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) technology as used in the DVB-T digital TV broadcasting standard, the units feature narrow bandwidth with low side band radiations and high resistance to interference. Encryption and scrambling are provided for additional security. The systems are easy to install and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
The units employ MPEG-2 with DVB mode as their video compression standard, while audio compression is achieved via the MPEG-1 Layer 3 standard. Line standards PAL, SECAM and NTSC are supported. Video bit rates between 2 and 20 Mbps are achievable, depending on system settings.
RF specifications include 250 mW output power as default – others are available upon request – and QPSK, 16 QAM and 64 QAM modulation, with forward error correction options of 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8.
