Z-Communications has released an RoHS-compliant coaxial resonator-based VCO in the UHF-band. The new ZRO0915C2LF operates from 902 to 928 MHz with excellent linear tuning voltage range of 0–11 V d.c. It features typical phase noise of -128 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset and a typical tuning sensitivity of 3 MHz/V. The device is designed to deliver a constant typical output power of 5 dBm at 10 V d.c. supply while drawing 23 mA over the temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Typical phase noise values are -100 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset and -148 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset. The VCO features typical 2nd harmonic suppression of -35 dBc and comes in Z-Comm’s newly developed ZMX-14-SM package, measuring 19 x 19 x 5,6 mm. It is targeted at digital communication systems and RFID applications.
