Single-stage RF driver amplifier

M/A-COM Technology Solutions’ IC product group recently released a new, highly linear, single stage driver amplifier for use as a first or second stage amplifier in a variety of wireless infrastructure systems. The MAAM-009560, HBT-based amplifier operates within a 250 MHz to 4,0 GHz frequency range and can achieve 14,0 dB of gain with an output P1dB power of 28,5 dBm.
The output IP3 performance of the amplifier is +40 dBm over an input power range of greater than 20 dB. To maximise the output linearity of the MAAM-009560, the typical application circuit will offer approximately 200 MHz of bandwidth within the stated frequency range. The device operates from a single +5,0 V d.c. power source consuming 250 mA. It is available in a lead-free SOT-89 plastic package.
