Linwave Technology has developed a new range of QFN high-frequency limiters with optional integrated LNAs.
The LW48-700117 is a wideband two-stage limiter packaged in a leadless 5 x 5 x 1,25 mm, 32-lead and 3 x 3 x 1,25 mm, 16-lead QFN surface mount package. The unit operates at frequencies between 2 and 20 GHz. Versions are also available for 20–2000 MHz, 100–3000 MHz and 2 to 18 GHz.
The device has an input power CW survivability rating higher than 5 W. The limiter provides flat leakage of less than +18 dBm and a return loss higher than 15 dB with a typical insertion loss of 0,8 dB. The LW48 is fitted with integrated DC blocks on both input and output for protection.
The IC’s input and output are internally matched to 50 Ω and are internally DC blocked. Some practical applications for these limiters are LNA receiver chain protection and radar receiver protection.
Linwave also supplies an evaluation circuit board for the LW48, as well as a wide range of RF and microwave diodes, detectors, switches and splitters, up-converters and amplifiers.
