4G module in Mini PCIe format

10 July 2013 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

Sigmatics has released a Mini PCIe FDD LTE/4G module into the South African market.

The 1KG provides customers with a pluggable solution for broadband data access, in a form factor developed predominantly for use with commercial goods such as laptops, and is also a popular solution for industrial clients who make use of industrial and/or embedded PCs.

As the only ‘industry standard’ form factor across a broad range of HSPA suppliers, Mini PCIe is gaining momentum as a module of choice, providing developers with multiple options from multiple vendors, catering for specific needs dependent on embedded capabilities of the modules themselves.

The 1KG boasts high-speed download up to 100 Mbps and upload of 50 Mbps. Industry standard U.FL connectors are fitted, providing an easy and inexpensive means of catering for powerful external antennas.
