The Locosys S4-0606 GPS module features high sensitivity, low power and ultra small form factor. It is powered by SiRF Star IV and can provide high sensitivity and performance even in urban canyon and dense foliage environments.
Users can add a serial EEPROM (or use the host CPU’s memory) to create a SiRF CGEE (Client Generated Extended Ephemeris) function that predicts satellite positions for up to three days and delivers CGEE start time of less than 15 seconds under most conditions, without any network assistance.
The module measures 6 x 6 x 1,35 mm and supports 48-channel GPS with fast time to first fix even at low signal levels. It features a built-in active jammer remover to track up to 8 CW jammers, and supports UART, SPI and I²C communication interfaces.
A low-power mode allows the module to stay in a hot-start condition nearly continuously while consuming very little power. The module integrates an LNA and SAW filter and is RoHS compliant.
