Pulse offers a line of surface-mount diplexer filters to enhance the quality and performance of broadband interactive cable communications systems by separating the upstream (from the user) and downstream (to the user) signals. The integrated modules will allow manufacturers of cable modems, set-top boxes, Internet appliances etc to save board space, reduce part count and simplify the equipment design when compared to a discrete filter solution.
The CX6002 filter module allows two-way communication between the customer premise equipment (CPE) and the cable network with minimal crossover interference between the downstream and upstream broadcast frequency spectrum. In most bi-directional cable applications, the 54 to 864 MHz frequency range carries the downstream broadcasts and the 5 to 42 MHz range carries the upstream communications. The CX6002 diplexer filter separates the upstream and downstream signals, delivering a low-pass signal (less than 42 MHz) at one port and a high-pass signal (greater than 54 MHz) at the second port.
Pulse says the design provides excellent return loss (>14 dB), crossover isolation (>18 dB) and port-to-port isolation (>30 dB). The diplexer filter needs no tuning, further reducing assembly costs for the customers.
