Semtech rolled out the SX1238, the first device in its long-range transceiver platform to fully integrate transceiver and front-end module into a single package targeted at smart metering applications such as water, gas and electric meters using WMBus, 802.15.4g, WiSUN and Zigbee NAN protocols.
Offering +27 dBm transmit power without the need for an additional front-end module, the device supports GFSK, FSK, GMSK and OOK modulation and conforms to FCC 15.247, EN 300-220 as well as other worldwide RF standards and regulations.
Bit rates up to 300 Kbps can be achieved across the 863 - 928 MHz frequency range. The SX1238 operates from a 1,8 V to 3,7 V supply and includes a sleep mode with register retention that consumes just 100 nA.
