Miniature embedded PC cards

The card-PCI family from Epson is a compact embedded PC solution for applications with a standard PCI bus. For high-performance, the PCI/GX series has CPU clock speeds up to 300 MHz and measures 102 x 64 x 16 mm. When cost is of the essence, there is the CP-GX series which utilises the 200 MHz SC2200 or SC3200 processors and supports MMX instructions.

All functions of a motherboard are integrated in these card PCs: Geode processor, DRAM, SXGA video controller for CRT or LCD, video memory, PCI bus interface, IDE interface, USB ports, serial channels, audio, keyboard/mouse and parallel port. The CP-GX card also features a compact flash slot. All popular software is compatible with this architecture such as Windows CE, NT, 98, 2000, QNX, PSos, OS/9 and VxWorks. Full development platforms and software kits are available. The Card PC is the answer when space for computing power is at a premium.
