Low power RS485/RS422 transceiver

STmicroelectronics' interface IC contains one driver and one receiver and is designed for bi-directional data communications or mutiport bus transmission lines (half-duplex apps). The ST485 operates from a single 5 V current supply and features a quiescent current of just 300 µA. Other advantages: driver maintains a high impedance in 3-state or with power off, a 70 mV typical input hysterisis, 30 ns propagation delay and 5 ns skew. Current limiting and thermal shutdown overload driver protection is also provided. Package options are miniDIP-8 and SO8.
