According to Webb Industries, the Storm Mast – its new composite belt-driven mast from SMC Hilomast – is ideal for a variety of applications in southern Africa, especially in the military.

The mast is designed to meet stringent MIL-810G standards and its construction from a composite material makes it lightweight yet tough – capable of supporting a wide range of head loads including antennas, cameras, lights and much more. Webb MD, Paul Richards, says that because of its composite material construction, the Storm Mast is RF transparent.

The range includes models with maximum extended heights from 6 to 18 metres with a full range of installation accessories for complete mast system solutions. “This mast has been designed to perform without fail in the very worst weather conditions and this, combined with the fact that it is light and extremely durable, will make it a popular choice amongst those, like the military, working in more remote areas,” says Richards.
