Combo antennas for mounting inside or outside vehicles

31 January 2017 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

The Guardian MA931 from Taoglas is a compact 6-in-1 antenna for rugged 4G vehicle router applications. Ideal for use with the dualLTE-advanced vehicle networking platforms MG90 and MP70 from Sierra Wireless, the antenna can be used to deploy plug-and-play solutions for in-vehicle applications.

This panel antenna, designed for IoT gateway and router devices, is low in profile and can be mounted on a wall or other surface via adhesive. It is a heavy-duty, fully IP67 waterproof resistant external M2M antenna for use by RF professionals in IoT gateway and routers, HD video streaming, transportation and remote monitoring applications.

The antenna delivers powerful MIMO technology for worldwide 4G LTE bands at 698 – 960 MHz, 1710 – 2170 MHz, 2490 – 2690 MHz and 3300 – 3600 MHz; dual-band 2,4/5,8 GHz Wi-Fi, plus GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou for location accuracy. It enables designers to install only one antenna to cover all of these technologies.

Taoglas has taken care to ensure high isolation among these antennas to prevent self-interference, while low-loss cables are used to keep efficiency high over long cable lengths. The GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou active antenna has been carefully designed for excellent performance across all GNSS bands, leading to higher location accuracy and stability of tracking in urban environments.

With a housing dimension of 146 x 134 x 20 mm, the Guardian MA931 comes with a 3M foam adhesive and can be mounted internally or externally on a vehicle. It comes with 1 metre, low-loss KSR-200P coaxial cables for the LTE and Wi-Fi antennas, and the RG174 coaxial cable for the GNSS antenna as standard. Customised cables and connector versions are also available.
