The GWLA.10 from Taoglas is a 2-in-1 embedded ceramic loop antenna for GPS and 2,4/5,8 GHz Wi-Fi, WLAN, Zigbee, Bluetooth and 802.11ac applications. Rather than using two separate chip antennas for GPS and Wi-Fi, it has two separate antenna feeds in a single antenna body, making it an ideal choice for applications where there is limited PCB space and where low cost is important.
The antenna uses the main PCB as its ground plane, thereby maintaining good efficiency despite its small size. It can be tuned for different PCB sizes/environments by changing the values of the matching circuit.
Measuring 3,2 x 1,6 x 0,5 mm, the GWLA.10 is delivered on tape and reel and manufactured in a TS16949 first tier automotive approved facility.
GPS performance boasts high efficiency and an omnidirectional pattern, and Wi-Fi performance also delivers a stable efficiency and radiation pattern, allowing this antenna to be used in a broad variety of devices. Typical applications are those where GPS and dual-band Wi-Fi are required, such as navigation or position tracking systems, handheld devices, tablets, point-of-sale systems, gateways and routers, mobile wireless camera systems and OBD devices.
