Wideband double balanced mixer

Mini-Circuits announced the release for production of its new MDB-24H+ wideband double balanced mixer. The MDB-24H+ is an advanced wideband frequency mixer fabricated using InGaP HBT technology with integrated LO and RF baluns. It has repeatable performance making it suitable for volume production.

With an RF/LO frequency from 5 to 21,5 GHz, the MDB-24H+ is ideal for radar, EW, Satcom and communication systems working in X-band and Ku-band. It has a wide IF bandwidth from DC to 5 GHz; with the IF as low as DC, it enables use in phase detector applications.

The chip has a low conversion loss of 7,9 dB, high LO to IF isolation of 44 dB at 15 GHz, and a high input P1dB of 23 dBm at 15 GHz. It is packaged in a tiny 4 x 4 x 1 mm MCLP package with a tin-silver-nickel finish and passes a tin whisker test. The maximum operating temperature of the mixer is -40°C to 85°C.
