Fixed frequency synthesisers

14 November 2018 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

Available from EM Research is a range of fixed frequency synthesisers with exceptionally low output power variation. Dubbed the ‘Legendary Calibration Oscillators’ (LCO) series, they feature an output power variation of ±0,2 dBm over a temperature range of 0°C to 50°C, and a variation with power cycle of ±0,1 dBm.

Their performance characteristics make the devices ideal for use as testing oscillators that require highly stable output power, such as multi-tone intermodulation testing and as calibration sources for receiver chains. Designed for reliable performance in laboratory and field environments, the LCO series is a good fit for a wide range of testing and calibration applications.

The fixed bandwidth frequency synthesisers can provide outputs ranging from 1 GHz to 30,5 GHz. They offer output power up to +10 dBm, and can be configured to use either an external reference from 5 to 100 MHz, or an optional internal reference.

The units operate from a +5 V supply and are built in a compact, connectorised package with dimensions of 11,43 x 6,35 x 1,52 cm or smaller. Additional customisation to customer specifications is possible.
