Infineon Technologies' TUA6120 is an integrated silicon tuner for all global satellite broadcast standards. No external active external components are needed and the design of RF frontend systems is simplified to a 'plug-and-play' solution. The TUA6120 is a single-chip RF-to-baseband satellite receiver that uses direct conversion architecture and eliminates the need for image-reject filtering as well as SAW filter. The device will be available in the very small leadless package P-VQFN-48 for tuner module, dual-tuner, on-board as well as portable/mobile receiver applications for 1-way or 2-way satellite systems. The chip can be used for all applications, such as DVB-S (digital video broadcasting-satellite), ISDB (integrated services video broadcasting, Japan) and DSS (direct satellite systems, US).
