The RHM057 is an intelligent RF data link available from Rotrax Technologies. The unit accepts RS232 data and sends this data via radio to a second RHM057 where it is presented on its RS232 port. The unit uses a pre-programmable PIC 16F873-04/SO microcontroller; this may be reprogrammed by the user to accommodate the user's application-specific software. The PIC used incorporates a USART which is dedicated to the RS232 port. The microcontroller performs all the time-intensive communications routines, such as preamble generation, check sums, etc. The RHM057 utilises user equipment for addressing, flow control, etc. It is available in both 433,92 MHz and 418,00 MHz. The unit uses the Radiometrix BiM module. This is subject to line of sight and environmental conditions. The units are simple to use and no user settings to the module are required. The RHM057 is available in OEM format or boxed in a small plastic enclosure, and is supplied with a six-way connector labelled for easy connection to other equipment.
