Multiport LIUs

28 August 2002 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

TDK Semiconductor offers two new families of multiport DS3/E3/STS-1 transceiver devices, adding dual, triple and quad port options to its current LIU products. The single channel LIU operates at both 5 and 3,3 V, while the multichannel LIUs operate at 3,3 V with 5 V I/O tolerance. The receivers recover clock and data from a B3ZS or HDB3-coded AMI signal and can compensate for over 12 dB of cable loss. All multiport devices also include redundancy circuitry to simplify system designs. The 78P7200L/02L/03L/04L devices offer a low-cost, reduced functionality option, whereas the 78P2241B/42/43/44 add the B3ZS/HDB3 ENDECs, monitor modes, and line code violation detection functionality. The dual port versions come in 80-pin TQFP package, triple and quad in 128-pin TQFP package.
